The WFPhC uses its newsletter to inform members and the interested public about recent events in relation to physics competitions and to publish articles focusing on physics competitions.

New Newsletter format from 2025

  • Periodicity: Not regular.
    • We will send it when there is something that some WFPhC member would like to share with the others. No more than 12 times a year. Count on the fact that the newsletter will be sent within four weeks.
  • Formats:
    • Introductory word – significant issues concerning the WFPhC from EC members (usually president, vice-presidents or secretary)
    • Leaflets – invitations of WFPhC members with their own design (ideally A4 PDF)
    • Short reports from competitions – max. 4 pages including images, max. 2 pages of text
    • Articles – without a limit on page count
      • We can also accept reprints, however, the author is obliged to inform us about this fact beforehand.

Article formatting and submission

Contributions to the WFPhC Newsletter are very much encouraged. We are looking for articles reporting on particular events or reflecting on one’s experience with physics competitions, also from a student’s perspective, for articles presenting different types of competitions where specific initiatives are presented in detail, but also for articles on research of relevance to physics competitions.

All articles should be prepared in MS Word format and formatted according to this Author’s Template. Authors should follow the instructions in the template as well as common standards for scientific articles. In particular, articles are expected to have an abstract, an introduction, and a conclusion and be properly referenced.

Articles submit by email to Karel Kolář, karel.kolar@fykos.org.
